The 2015-16 School Year is (almost) Over!
Congratulations! You’ve made it to the end of another school year! It is hard to believe that the 2015-16 school year is just about over. Seniors have wrapped everything up in their classes, and everyone else finishes up on Wednesday, May 25th. This is followed on Thursday, May 26th with the SWC eSchool graduation ceremony at Rotary Park in Durango at 4 PM. Please feel free to join us – everyone is welcome!
We are busy, too, wrapping things up for this semester, preparing for graduation, getting summer school ready, talking to lots of new students about next year – and loving it all! We are super psyched about the prospects for next year. We have several new initiatives and look forward to a great 2016-17 school year!!
We have added 6th grade! The SWC eSchool is now a full 6-12 secondary school option for students who reside in the San Juan BOCES service area of Southwest Colorado (Pagosa Springs to Dove Creek (E to W) and Ignacio to Silverton (S to N)). Let us know if you are interested in any of these grade options.
Another new initiative on the horizon is our plan to provide a free Chromebook for our students. This means that students will be able to earn and keep a brand new Chromebook! This will apply only to our Full Time, Hybrid and Shared School students. We will be releasing more information on this in the coming months, so stay tuned!
Math support for 2016-17. Although it is not a sure thing yet, we hope to bring an excellent math teacher on board to support our students on a regular basis in mathematics. This is dependent on our enrollment numbers being strong enough to support it, but we are optimistic that we will be able to make this initiative a reality. Stay tuned for further information on this soon as well.
Wishing you the very best for the remainder of the month of May and the launch of the summer of 2016!!
